The Big Storm

February 2, 2011

We had THE BIG STORM. Schools were closed. People were told to stay home. The city braced itself. I woke up this morning expecting snow to envelope our car. For the city to be paralyzed. The snow barely made it up to the bumper. The streets were fine. This was a media storm. And then I turn on the TV and see what’s happening in Australia. A storm the size of the continental United States. Do I trust the reports? And then I see what’s happening in Egypt. Is everything open to skepticism?
