American’s aren’t rational. They’re optimists.

January 8, 2012

I heard once that Americans weren’t rational. They were optimists. They always looked at the bright side of life. I read in an article recently (recently wasn’t the name of the article but I can’t recall the name) that an income of about $75,000 a year was sufficient to be happy. That you could pay your bills, feed your family. And things were bound to get better. But in the present economy, things have changed. The middle class is disappearing. The gap between the rich and poor is widening. The new poor are angry. At the rich. At the old poor. At each other. The rich are fearful. Getting richer. And in their minds deservedly so. The rich are turning into socio-paths. The poor are turning into psycho-paths. And everyone has guns.

Of course this is an exaggeration.
