She jumped from the fourth floor

April 10, 2012

She jumped from the fourth floor. I wasn’t surprised. You know how it goes. Down. We weren’t lovers. I just remember the day her brown eyes met mine. There was something. There. I never suspected. That she was on the verge of a breakdown. The pain of a black girl at a white school. And there was a witness. Who said that she was sure. That on the way down, she was trying to fly.
