In the next office

There was a man who sat in a chair in the office. Waiting. He had an appointment, you see. With the man in the next office. He had an electronic device in his hand and was watching the Super Bowl. He seemed quite content. Except he missed the chili. And the cold beers. He’d been in that office waiting longer than he could remember. Longer than anyone could remember. He’d been waiting so long he’d forgotten why he’d been waiting.
In the next office a man sat in a chair. He was waiting.
